Perran Beach Perranporth Area
photo

From Ligger Point looking south one sees the 2 miles of Perran Sands stretching out before you. The ground behind the beach at this northern end is all Ministry of Defence land and is out of bounds. The path lies down the back of the beach. About halfway down the beach a path leads up onto the dunes (not Ministry land) and goes inland to the remains of the 12th century St Piran's church, site of the Domesday monastery of Lanpiran.

You can choose to walk on to Perranporth either on the beach or up on the cliffs. If you take the beach path, take care not to be cut off by a rising tide.

A CDROM version of the PhotoTour with over 540 high-quality photos of larger size is available from the Association's shop.
