Polly Joke is a small, totally unspoilt beach lying about 30 minutes walk around the coast from Crantock Beach. The National Trust, by not only owning the beach but also part of the access, has ensured that it remains free of commercialism. No cream teas here, in fact no anything except the beach, sea and cliffs.

The word Joke may have derived from the ``chough'' a crow-like bird extinct in the county until recently re-introduced.

The cliffs along this section of the Coast Path are covered in Sea Pink and Cowslips in May, making this the best time to visit.

A CDROM version of the PhotoTour with over 540 high-quality photos of larger size is available from the Association's shop.
