Portheras Cove West Penwith
photo

The landscape is ancient. Fields are small and the stones cleared to form the boundaries. The area has changed little since the Iron and Bronze age. West Penwith is an Environmentally Sensitive Area (ESA) which seeks to encourage sympathetic farming techniques.

Please observe the warning signs at Portheras. Sharp metal lies stroon on the beach from the 1963 wreck of Alacrity.
