The castle at St Mawes, like its twin at Pendennis across the river in Falmouth, was built by Henry VIII in 1538. Both are well preserved and open to the public.

The official route of the South West Coast Path doesn't pass through the nearby village of St Mawes, but ends at the village of St Anthony across the Percuil river.

A CDROM version of the PhotoTour with over 540 high-quality photos of larger size is available from the Association's shop.
