Teignmouth Sea Wall South Devon
photo

The railway which follows the coast between Teignmouth and Dawlish Warren is part of the South Devon railway and was opened in the 1840s between Exeter and Plymouth. Later it became part of the world-famous Great Western Railway and through services between London Paddington and Penzance were run.

The route of the railway, being so close to the sea, has caused the line to be closed many times following storm damage. But in summer a trip along the five miles of the famous `Sea Wall' is a must for all rail enthusiasts.

A CDROM version of the PhotoTour with over 540 high-quality photos of larger size is available from the Association's shop.
